Trest SZEM has purchased a batch of new equipment made by PRÜFTECHNIK (Germany), the world leading producer of equipment for laser alignment, vibrodiagnostics and balancing of rotary machines, including turbounits, motors, pumps, compressors, reducers and smoke suckers.
At present TGK-1, the principal Trest SZEM customer in the North-West, has been conducting an investment program for the building and upgrading of several plants. In performing installation activities at these projects a need arose for a more perfect method of alignment of turbounits and pumps and control of vibration and balancing. To ensure a competitive ablity cooperation with PRÜFTECHNIK was carried on.
It should be noted that Trest SZEM works with imported equipment, including Siemens-produced, for which high precision technology is required. In the middle of 2009 we came to an agreement with PRÜFTECHNIK on delivery of equipment enabling more accurate alignment of any turbines amd inspection and balancing of all operating modes of rotary gear. Such equipment would help reduce time costs and heighten workmanship. We chose the most perfect specimens which, according to our estimates, ensure 10 years' operation without upgrading.
For working with new equipment for laser alignment, vibrodiagnostics and balancing of rotary machines a specilized team is being formed at Leningrad Construction and Erection Division of SZEM JSC, an enterprise which has installed turbounits at Unit 1 of the Pravoberezhnaya HPP-5, Avtovo HPP-15, Vasileostrovskaya HPP-7, etc.
The PRÜFTECHNIK equipment will be used when installing two 150 mW gas turbines and a steam turbine of the Pravoberezhnaya HPP PGU-450 combined cycle unit, which is to be put into operation in 2012. Besides, the equipment will be used for alignment, vibrodiagnostics and balancing of other rotary items of HPP-5 such as pumps and fans. Another large facility which is to be provided with new equipment is the Yugo-Zapadnaya (South-West) HPP steam turbine, which will power the Baltic Pearl housing complex under construction. Also, the new instruments will be applied in performing overhauls and upgrades of TGK-1 facilities.
