Territorial Generating Company No.1 OJSCSaint-Petersburg2008/2012

Construction of a new power unit No. 2 of Pravoberezhnaya CHPP-5 (PGU-450) is one of the priority projects of the investment program of Territorial Generating Company No.1 OJSC for the period up to 2015. The electric capacity of the power unit No. 2, created on the basis of modern combined-cycle technologies, is 450 MW, heat power is 350 Gcal/hour. General Construction Designer: SevZap NTC OJSC. Project implementation period: from October 2007 to November 2012. 

According to the results of the open tender of Territorial Generating Company No.1 OJSC, on October 16, 2007 Trest SZEM  CJSC was selected as the General Contractor for the "turnkey" project of the second power unit of Pravoberezhnaya CHPP-5.

On December 29, 2007 Trest SZEM  CJSC signed a contract with Territorial Generating Company No.1 OJSC to carry out a se­t of works on the construction and commissioning of the power unit No. 2 (PGU-450) of Pravoberezhnaya CHPP-5 of Territorial Generating Company No.1 OJSC.

On April 7, 2008, Vladimir Privalov, Director General of Trest  SZEM  CJSC, and Sergey Syomkin, Director General of INTECH CJSC (ITM Group), signed the Agreement on the establishment of United Petersburg Power Engineering Consortium (UPPEC), created to be a management company of a project for the construction of power unit No. 2 of Pravoberezhnaya CHPP-5. Legally, the interests of the consortium are represented by Management Company of United Petersburg Power Engineering Consortium CJSC. 

Under the contract, the main equipment of the power unit was supplied including: 

  • GTE-160 two gas turbines manufactured by OJSC "Power machines" with an inlet air filter unit and TZFG-160-2MU3 generators;
  • T-150-7.4 steam turbine with a TZFG-160-2MU3 generator manufactured by OJSC "Power machines";
  • two Pr-227/55-7.65/0.53-516/228 (PK-59) waste-heat boilers with auxiliary equipment by ZiO OJSC;
  • equipment of the boosting compressor station;
  • 0.4/6kV main, tapped and power transformers;
  • equipment 330 kV gas insulated switchgear and 6kV switchgear and control gear;
  • inter-turbine pipelines.

Construction and installation works under the contract: 

  • set of works on the preparation of the construction site including utilities network relocation from the building footprint;
  • a full set of construction work of the zero cycle, construction of the Main Building in the 1-12 axes including introduction of 2 bridge cranes for 110/20 tonnes;
  • installation of the underground part of the circulation water conduits of the service water system;
  • a significant amount of work on the installation of the main thermal and mechanical equipment.

In June 2011, in coordination with Territorial Generating Company No.1 OJSC, the functions of the general contracting organization were transferred to Management Company of United Petersburg Power Engineering Consortium CJSC.  

Further, as a contractor of Management Company of United Petersburg Power Engineering Consortium CJSC, Trest SZEM  CJSC completed the following scope of work to complete the construction of the power unit:

  • the main equipment of the power unit with a total weight of about 7,000 tonnes was installed, including two GTE-160 gas turbines with an inlet air filter unit, generators and auxiliary equipment, T-125/150-7.4 steam turbine with a generator and accessories, two P-107 waste-heat boilers;
  • installation of auxiliary thermal and mechanical equipment and installation of pipelines of the boiler room and machine hall in the Main Building, and installation of other objects of the unit with a total weight of more than 1000 tonnes;
  • a set of construction and installation work was performed to reconstruct the water boiler.

The functions of the head adjustment organization during commissioning of power unit No. 2 under a contract with Gazenergoprominzhiniring LLC were performed by Sevzapenergomontazh Commissioning Department CJSC, which coordinated the entire set of commissioning works and process flow tests at this power unit. 

The power unit No. 2 (PGU-450) of the Pravoberezhnaya CHPP-5 was put into commercial operation on November 23, 2012.
